Literatures
DiscussRoundtable: Judeo-Maghreban Literatures
A new, fully interactive literary support site for scholars seeking to promote the study of Sephardic literatures will soon be launched. Its purpose is to research and analyze the many facets of that literary corpus, find forgotten or lost works, discuss new and pertinent methods of critical inquiry, locate and encourage grants and fellowships, and develop the field in general.
The first section to open soon pertains to the Literatures of the Maghreb, which will offer dowloadable bibliographies, online resources, discussion forum, state of the art local instant messaging, combination mail/web interface, online colloquy, and more. Primary language, French.
Scholars and doctoral candidates who wish to participate should send a blank e-mail to
maghrebjewry@lists.sephardiconnect.com.

DiscussNew Forum for Writers
Many writers have come by in search for information on Sephardic culture, with questions encompassing history, society, opinions, customs, practices, books, politics, and the like.
This "brand new" interactive writers' support page was created to meet their needs. This is also a place where writers and poets can meet to test ideas, share insights, critique, and find practical information.

The Sephardic Side of the Web
Read  Our pick for this edition is the impressive online exhibit of the Life and Times of the Sephardic Jewish Community of Hamburg. The site, in Portuguese and German, is a must see even for those who do not understand those languages. Its numerous tables and illustrations are literally an open window into the past of the Spanish-Portuguese Community of Hamburg once known as "The Jerusalem of the North." The site is intelligently done, the information professionally presented.
